Additional Info: The Petite Prince aka Vox Populi (the voice of the people) tapestry is adapted from the original painting by Edmund Blair Leighton (1853-1922), a romanticist painter of the Pre-Raphaelite Movement in the Victorian era (1837-1901). The tapestry shows Lady Margaret Beaufort, a descendant of King Edward III (House of Lancaster) holding her son, the future King Henry VII during The Wars of the Roses, an English civil war (1455-1487) between the houses of Lancaster and York who tussled for control of the English throne. Lady Margaret Beaufort was instrumental in the rise of power of the House of Lancaster in the Tudor Dynasty.
